Michael Grider

Michael is a lifelong resident of Blount County. He graduated from William Blount High School in 1997, Maryville College in 2001, and then completed his Master's work in Business Administration at the University of Tennessee in 2002. For more than 20 years now, Michael has worked in professional sales roles where he’s led dynamic, high-achieving sales teams all across the country. Since shifting full-time into real estate in 2019, he's enjoyed the freedom to spend more time with his family in the community that he loves and to serve real people as they make major life decisions. 
 
Over the years, Michael has been involved with a number of local ministries such as Young Life, FCA and The Vineyard. He has also participated in projects with Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest, and Reach Haiti Ministries. He currently serves on the Board of the LeConte Foundation, and a portion of every commission he earns is donated to that charity. Each year he rides his bike during the month of September to raise money for children’s cancer research. 
 
Michael is an avid cyclist, a massive sports fan, and a bit of a low-key foodie. He and his wife, Katie, have three amazing sons: Blu, Eliott, Tuck and a beautiful baby girl, Hallie Golightly. Michael can often be found coaching one of his children’s sports teams, playing some form of ball in the yard, or walking his Dalmatian, Watson, around one of the local parks.

The Grider Group

This is the rest of the Grider Group: Katie, Blu, Eliott, Tuck, and Hallie.
 
While they only sporadically do real estate work themselves, they are my support system - my why, my motivation, and my accountability. Simply put, they are why I do what I do every day.
 
Blu is a sophomore at Alcoa High School. He plays basketball, is involved with Young Life and his youth group and maintains the active social life you'd expect from a teenager. He's the best big brother to his little siblings and simply one of the best all-around humans I've ever known.
 
Eliott is an eighth grader at Alcoa Middle School. He plays basketball and runs track. When he's not at school, he also plays travel basketball for Tennessee United's national team and True Hoop's team on the Puma Circuit. What can I say? He really loves basketball. He's the kid who makes everyone smile. He says he wants to be a Real Estate Agent like me when he grows up.
 
Tuck is 4. He's smart and creative and literally ALWAYS on the go! He loves to climb, run, and jump and will spend all day outdoors if we let him. He's never met a stranger and will often walk right up to someone new and say "I'm Tuck Riley. I have a dog named Watson Domino. He's a Dalmatian. I have superpowers." I'm telling you that it's objectively cute, even if I am a little bit biased in the matter.
 
Hallie Golightly will turn 2 this year. She's living a princess dream with three older brothers who dote on her at all times. She's sweet and smart and SO different than all of the boys. We can't remember what life was like before her, and we don't want to remember.
 
Katie is also a licensed Real Estate Agent, but she's focused on the family for now. With 4 kiddos, that's more than a full-time job! She makes sure we're all fed and clothed and where we need to be. None of us could survive without her, and she does it all with a grace that I can't begin to understand.
